Bloodborne pathogens can be detrimental to a persons everyday life, the best way to avoid contraction is by making sure to follow universal precautions, protective practices, and individual exposure control plans. These practices and safety precautions could very well be the difference between life and death in some scenarios. With that being said, let us dive deeper into some of these practices that employees should be aware of when dealing with any blood or bodily fluid cleanings.

The most common, and in my opinion, the most important practices to be followed are universal precautions. These precautions set a clear plan of action to follow in the event that there could be risk of a bloodborne pathogen. That plan of action is simply acting as if everyone has a bloodborne pathogen. With the use of this practice, including the use of PPE, the risk of contracting a disease, such as HBV or HIV, drops significantly.

Employee knowledge on bloodborne pathogens is imperative when owning, operating, or working in businesses that deal with the possibility of an outbreak. While there may be specific business models that focus exclusively on these sorts of cleaning, everyone should have some sort of training or education on bloodborne pathogens due to the fact that an outbreak can happen anywhere at any time. Hopefully this article helps people better understand the risks and procedures when dealing with bloodborne pathogens.

As commercial and residential cleaning companies play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in various settings, their employees are at the forefront of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. These microorganisms, such as hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), can pose serious health risks to employees who come into contact with blood or other bodily fluids during their cleaning duties. To safeguard the well-being of these employees and prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens, comprehensive education and strict adherence to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) best practices for bloodborne pathogen precautions are of paramount importance.

OSHA has established guidelines that emphasize the importance of education and training to create awareness among employees about the risks associated with bloodborne pathogens and how to prevent exposure. Proper education ensures that employees understand the modes of transmission, symptoms of bloodborne pathogen-related illnesses, and the necessary precautions to mitigate risks.

One of the critical aspects of bloodborne pathogen education is the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Employees must be trained on the correct usage of PPE, such as gloves, face shields, and gowns, while handling potentially contaminated materials or cleaning up blood or bodily fluids. They should also be educated on the appropriate disposal of contaminated materials and the importance of frequent hand hygiene. Adhering to these safe work practices minimizes the risk of exposure and protects the health and safety of employees.

In addition to education and proper use of PPE, regular training and updates are crucial to ensure that employees stay informed about the latest guidelines and best practices for bloodborne pathogen safety. This includes staying updated on changes in regulations, understanding new cleaning protocols, and being aware of emerging bloodborne pathogen-related risks.

Compliance with bloodborne pathogen precautions not only safeguards the health and safety of employees but also prevents potential legal and financial liabilities for cleaning companies. Failure to comply with OSHA regulations can result in severe penalties and fines, as well as lawsuits in case of employee exposure and resulting illnesses. Therefore, investing in comprehensive bloodborne pathogen education and training programs is not only an ethical responsibility but also a smart business decision.

In conclusion, bloodborne pathogen education and precautions are vital for employees of commercial or residential cleaning companies to protect their health and safety in the workplace. Compliance with OSHA guidelines, including proper use of PPE, safe work practices, regular training, and staying updated on the latest regulations, is imperative to minimize the risks of exposure and prevent the spread of bloodborne pathogens. Employers must prioritize providing thorough education and training programs to their employees to ensure their well-being, prevent legal liabilities, and maintain a safe work environment. By doing so, we can create a safer and healthier working environment for all employees in the cleaning industry.

Safety should be used at all times when it comes to employees. Making sure they were there universal PPE to keep them safe from blood. With this it can be assumed that all blood is contaminated and should be treated that way.

Bloodborne pathogens can be transferred through the mucus membrane on the face, eyes, and nose. This is a concern and a reason why proper face or eye protection should be worn when dealing with blood.

Bloodborne pathogens can cause serious damage to the human body including death. HIV is a risk when dealing with blood. Always have caution when dealing with sharp needles.

The answer is: Nothing works without them!

Just imagine that no one would clean public buildings such as schools, daycares, offices, city halls, banks and so on. No trash cans would be emptied, the floor sticky and dirty, foul odor and the toilets.....I don't even want to talk about that!

How often it is those who work in the background that we can least do without! However, Janitors and Custodians do so much more than just clean with their work. They also keep us safe from the dangers of germs and other pathogens. They are the true heroes in customer service!

Always remember this and treat the Janitor or Custodian with the same (if not greater) respect as the CEO!

Very interestingly we kept on learning and inspired to write this 4 paragraph essay to real world experience of our cleaning service orientation to become the next generation 'Green Cleaning Partner' of the globe.

How being green cleaning certified status helps our company is by far the last but not least conclusion of this certification. In this world dynamism is key to survive and prosper or else to be absorbed and liquidated in the worst case scenario. The following vital aspects underline the beneficial values our company will be enchanted with green cleaning certification.

    1. Adaptation to changes and use of acceptable standards and practices - the world acknowledges harmless agents of cleaning - green cleaning - so does our company take this movement seriously to continue bargaining vendor business or competitive advantages.

    2. Environmental Protection - To protect all creatures of the environment our company should take part actively by implementing green cleaning agents and thereby promote the safety of the society at large.

    3. Economic Advantages - Our company can save tens of thousands dollars incurred by moving forward with the green cleaning use of methods and eliminate consequential risks of business practices - financial claims due to hazardous substance and practices.

    4. Awareness Creation - We started already intense in-house training of green cleaning practices and induce our clients and stakeholders the facets and benefits of green services. If tens of thousands of green cleaning partners promote this slogan and professional green development with IJCSA; the whole concerted effort would be huge enough to finally create an eco-friendly climate and or habitat for all.

    5. Green Brands - Wow! you can imagine being certified with green cleaning takes you the hall of fame or "green brands" and stakeholders rushing to you to make business and our company prosper so do people and stakeholders of the company.
