"How You Can Implement Medical Cleaning Practices Into Other Residential & Commercial Cleaning Situations"

07 Nov 2023 11:02 PM | Lazaro J Norona

There is no question about the fact that Medical Cleaning Practices are not the same as commercial and residential ones. Homes and offices are usually low traffic areas with mostly healthy people while medical facilities are more likely to have a high traffic base predominantly by sick people.

When cleaning commercial or residential building the focus rest on the appearance of the facility. When it comes to medical facilities the focus is to reduce the bio-load (dust, dirt, and grime), clean and disinfect the place instead of on the appearance.

Part of the question on the table is “how to implement medical cleaning practices into other residential and commercial cleaning situation”. It has been proven that most workplaces are one of the unhealthiest places you can inhabit just because we touch a lot of other different surfaces that also has been touched by many other people. Home environment is not different than a workplace specially when it comes to areas like kitchen and bathrooms.

Cleaning and disinfect high-touch surfaces and objects in your home and in your office more frequently may help kill the bacteria we pick up during the time we spend in this pleases. The practice of washing our hands and using hand sanitizer (medical facilities cleaning standard) can also be applied at home and at work place. It will help significantly to reduce spreading harmful bacteria, germs, & viruses.

At IJCSA we value protecting the population and the world from harmful bacteria, germs, & viruses. To prevent infections and avoid spreading them it is recommended to follow these simple tactics: avoid close contact with people who are sick; cover coughs and sneezes; avoid touching your face; stay home if you're sick; clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched often and avoid contaminated food and water. Educating the population about these practices is the best way to win the battle against harmful bacteria, germs, & viruses while reducing the risk of infection.
