Well as everyone knows a bloodborne pathogen is a microorganism in the blood that can cause several diseases, such as HBV, HIV, or AIDS. So working in the sanitation and janitorial field there are often times you will be exposed to all kinds of bodily fluids.

Knowing how to approach these situations properly are important for clients and staff, because you must know how to disinfect and sanitize areas and surfaces in order to prevent spreading and exposure.

As long as everyone uses the "Universal Precaution" rule established saying all blood and certain bodily fluids should be considered potentially infectious to minimize the risk of exposure. As well as proper labeling and coloring for all used laundry and equipment.
