The importance of cleaning bloodborn pathogens is to eliminate the risk factors of transferring infectious diseases. H.I.V. (human immunodeficiency virus) and H.B.V.(hepatitis B virus), these are not the only bloodborn pathogens that can be transferred however they are the most common. H.I.V. is characterized by sore thrort, nausea, diarrhea and some forms of cancer. H.B.V is characterized by a disease that causes inflammation of the liver and can lead to more serious conditions, liver cancer and cirrhosis of the liver.

Because H.B.V. is transmitted through mucous membranes or breaks in the skin as well as possibly taking 2 to 6 months to develop symptoms such as, flu, stomach pain, lose of appetite and more with progression jaundice and dark urine. There is no cure for either one of these viruses however with H.B.V. vaccination directley after contact (before symptoms appear) can prevent infection.

The prevention of transferring bloodborn pathogens is extremly important not only for the the industry we have a roll in being directly responsible for making sure the public is protected as well. And that means utilizing the proper chemicals and taking the proper steps aa well as safty equipment. Quat sanitizer, safty goggles, gloves just to name a few will in sure the safety of us all.
