A strike by cleaning staff at Mumbai Airport left passengers waiting for their flights amid piles of rubbish.
Passengers travelling in and out of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport were met with overflowing bins in the terminals and in the bathrooms, and dirty toilets.
More than 1,900 cleaning staff at the airport went on strike on Wednesday, with the action having an impact on amenities available to passengers - not to mention creating eyesores.
The rubbish began to build up at Mumbai Airport after the cleaning workers walked out in strike over wages
While much of the rubbish is the gradual build up from customers, one passenger claimed the workers themselves are making the situation worse.
Speaking to the Mumbai Mirror, Niraj Kumar, who was flying on to Delhi, said: 'The toilet floor was full of tissue paper.
'It appeared that the striking workers had dumped them there.'
