What is great customer service? How we define customer service is a way of assisting and advising individuals who wish to either buy our products or use our services. In customer service we do everything possible to meet our customers needs and demands. We simply follow the motto ‘Whatever makes the customer happy’ rather than ‘The Customer is Always Right’. While many would argue with this narrative I feel the first is better because sometimes the customer may not know what they are doing and are reaching out for help. It is important when dealing with a customer to show them empathy, compassion, provide knowledge and attention as well as that you are listening to them and care about what they have to say. You should always show the customer respect and that you are reliable enough for them to trust not only in your business but also you as a worker.

When operating a janitorial or cleaning service providing good customer service is critical to the success of our business. The International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association as well as its members keen themselves on making their customers happy. In my time I have never seen so many businesses and companies who care deeply about their clients as all members at IJCSA do. If you or anyone you know are in need of a particular cleaning service feel free to check out some of the websites businesses https://www.ijcsa.org/Find-A-Cleaning-Service-Janitorial-Service.

Ensuring that cleaning employees and staff are knowledgeable about bloodborne pathogens is crucial for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace environment. Bloodborne pathogens are harmful microorganisms found in blood and other bodily fluids that can cause serious infections if they enter the body through breaks in the skin or mucous membranes. Cleaning employees often come into contact with blood and other potentially infectious materials while performing their duties, putting them at risk of exposure to these pathogens.

Proper training on bloodborne pathogens equips cleaning employees with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and others from potential hazards. This training covers topics such as the modes of transmission of bloodborne pathogens, methods for preventing exposure, and procedures for safely cleaning up spills of blood or bodily fluids. By understanding the risks associated with bloodborne pathogens and how to mitigate them, cleaning employees can work more safely and confidently, reducing the likelihood of workplace injuries and illnesses.

In addition to protecting cleaning employees, knowledge about bloodborne pathogens also helps safeguard the health and well-being of building occupants and visitors. By following proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, cleaning staff can help prevent the spread of infectious diseases and contribute to creating a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone. Investing in comprehensive training on bloodborne pathogens not only fulfills regulatory requirements but also demonstrates a commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of all individuals in the workplace.

As a cleaning employee and staff member, having knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens is significant because the day to day activities of cleaning can change and you may be faced with different challenges that you come across to clean. In certain areas of cleaning such as hospitals, doctor offices, and rehabilitation center bloodborne pathogens are more common. These pathogens may even be found in uncommon areas such as vehicles.

Because of the likelihood of being exposed to bloodborne pathogens, one must know the risks of being exposed to them. To the mere eye, you only see blood but what you see can be dangerous to you and others. Bloodborne Pathogens possess infectious diseases such as HPV, HIV, and Hepatitis B. These diseases are life changing and may develop into bigger problems further down the line for your health.

With knowledge of bloodborne pathogens, you have the chance at receiving knowledge on how to prevent exposure as well as receiving knowledge on what to do post exposure. In order to lower the risk of coming in direct contact with bloodborne pathogens, you would use Universal Precautions. Universal Precautions involve utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, googles, and aprons. In the event an employee does come in contact with a bloodborne pathogen, they should already be educated on what to do after. The main thing an employee should be made aware of is if they are exposed to one, then they should contact their supervisor immediately so the proper protocol can be put in placed and the employee may receive any vaccinations necessary at will. With this knowledge, cleaning employees and staff will know how to better protect themselves and others in the event of exposure.

There is a lot of reasons why Educating the cleaning employees and staff about Bloodborne pathogens is so important.

First without knowledge the employees or staff wouldn’t know how to protect the patient, staff or themselves. And we all know keeping workplace safe, clean , organized and free of odor is one the goals of every single employer. All these cannot be possible without knowledge.

Second once the employees or staff know how The Bloodborne pathogens are transmitted and what to do to prevent them , it reduces the danger as employees can be held accountable if they’re not following the guidelines but without the knowledge everybody will be risk.

Lastly, our cleaning employees or staff are the first defense at workplace, and they cannot assume this person looks healthy therefore I would clean his/her bodily  fluids differently from that person who seems sick meaning they need to treat all bodily fluids as if they’re contaminated by applying universal precautions. And this wouldn’t be possible without having the knowledge of Bloodborne pathogens.

We have all heard the term "Going Green" or being "Green Certified", but what does that really mean for the company and its employees?  There are many things that relate to being green.  Plastic usage, toxic chemicals for cleaning, the types of runners and rugs, even down to what types of rags we clean with.

Green programs allow for many improvements to your business which can include improved air quality with chemicals that are odorless and colorless as well as using HEPA Filter vacuums to capture more dust and debris.  Multi use rags, towels and glass bottles rather than single use ones allows for less wasted water are simple ways to effect the green quality of your company.  Lets not overlook the economic benefits when using Green products.  Many local, State and even federal credits are available when utilizing a green program.

Our staff as well as customers deserve a safe, clean and welcoming environment.  A green program helps achieve this.
