Green cleaning has always been something that i have been interested in especially since 2020 with everything that went on. Over the years I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos which didn’t get as detailed as it did with the training and now I’m all in! A cleaner space should not require sacrificing the health for myself or others in the environment.

I will implement green cleaning throughout my daily operations not only at work but also in my own home as I’ve been for a while now and notice the difference in my everyday life. When hiring employees have them go through the same training so they know the importance of avoiding harmful chemicals while also knowing the proper way to store and dispose of the products to be able to complete the job effectively.

I plan on green cleaning to be more than a marketing slogan for me and my company but how we operate in our daily life. Always looking for opportunities to reduce waste and improve our environment impact.

    Finding a Green Cleaning Service

    By David DeMaio

Finding the right green cleaning company means choosing a service that can keep your home or business clean while also using responsible cleaning methods. Many consumers today look for green cleaning services that use eco-friendly cleaning products, sustainable cleaning practices, safer cleaning solutions, and environmentally responsible cleaning methods. IJCSA members can help consumers find professional cleaning services that focus on quality, reliability, and greener cleaning options for homes, offices, and commercial properties.

The IJCSA Green Cleaning Service Directory is a helpful resource for finding cleaning professionals who offer green cleaning services. Consumers can search for companies that provide residential green cleaning, commercial green cleaning, office cleaning, janitorial services, and environmentally friendly cleaning services. When choosing a company, it is a good idea to ask about the products they use, their cleaning procedures, and how they reduce waste and unnecessary chemical use. The directory can be found here: https://www.ijcsa.org/Green-Cleaning-Services

A professional green cleaning company may use microfiber cloths, properly diluted cleaning products, reduced-waste methods, and other practices designed to support a cleaner and healthier indoor environment. Green cleaning is about more than just using products labeled “green”; it also includes proper training, responsible product use, and choosing the right cleaning method for each surface and situation. Consumers looking for a dependable eco-friendly cleaning service can use the IJCSA Green Cleaning Service Directory to find an IJCSA member that fits their cleaning needs.

Becoming green cleaning certified can benefit me and my company in helping me attract the right customers who are looking for more responsible and less toxic cleaning services. It would show the seriousness of my company showing that i went through training and not just saying that my company is “Eco friendly”.

Certifications can also help me qualify for more commercial opportunities which is what I’m aiming for. It can make my company more competitive when bidding for clients and may help me meet sustainability requirements that some clients might require for their contractors.

While i love the benefits not only for me and the environment i also love the financial benefits for my company also just from the knowledge obtained on being able to clean properly minus using Bleach, and Ammonia which use to be big in my household growing up.I love the idea of using refillable containers, microfiber cleaning materials, and just being able to make your own cleaning products.

Finally green cleaning certification can help me build a stronger reputation and differentiate my company from competitors. Customers are more likely to trust companies they see who have went through training which the certification will provide for me. It gives the opportunity to position my company as a safer, more responsible, and trustworthy choice for customers who want a less toxic safer cleaning company

What if i told you you could have a spotless home/workplace minus the harsh chemicals? Choosing green cleaning is the future. Giving you the opportunity to choose healthier environment while making a more responsible choice.

When going green look for companies who are transparent about their products, how they use the products, and the good thing about it most companies have refillable/reusable containers and supplies.

By choosing a responsible green cleaning company you can enjoy the same cleaning as if you were using chemicals minus the harmful and toxic side effects that come along with chemicals. A cleaner space, a healthier choice, and a greener future. billdu.me/vacate-clean-llc

Healthcare facility cleaning is not the same job as cleaning a home or a typical office, even though the tools can look similar. The people inside a medical space often have weaker immune systems, open wounds, or medical devices that give germs a direct path into the body, so a shortcut that would go unnoticed with general commercial cleaning can directly contribute to a healthcare-associated infection (HAI) in a clinical setting. HAIs are not a rare or theoretical risk — CDC data puts the number at roughly 1.7 million reported HAIs a year in the U.S., with tens of thousands of resulting deaths, and no population is exempt, including newborns and otherwise healthy patients in for routine procedures. A medical cleaning and disinfection team that treats every surface as a possible pathogen reservoir, even when it looks spotless, is the first line of defense against that risk — which is exactly why hiring a certified, properly trained janitorial service matters so much in this industry.

That's why effective infection control cleaning has to go beyond wiping a surface until it looks clean. True disinfection requires physically cleaning a surface first so dirt and debris don't block the disinfectant from making contact, then applying an EPA-registered, hospital-grade disinfectant and leaving it wet for its full listed contact/dwell time — something that's easy to rush past under time pressure but that makes or breaks whether a surface is actually decontaminated versus simply wet-wiped. High-touch surface disinfection — door handles, bed rails, call buttons, light switches, countertops — deserves extra attention because these points are touched constantly by patients, staff, and visitors, making them the most likely surfaces to spread infection if they're missed or wiped dry too soon. On top of that, proper hand hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols — gloved, gowned, and masked in the correct order, with hands washed before gloving and after degloving — protect the cleaning team itself from bloodborne pathogens like HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C, which spread through contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), not just visibly contaminated surfaces.

Ultimately, properly cleaning a healthcare facility protects three groups at once: the patients who are most vulnerable to infection, the staff and visitors moving through the space, and the cleaning professionals themselves. Every step in a healthcare-adjacent cleaning protocol — from sequencing PPE correctly, to honoring disinfectant dwell times, to knowing exactly what to do in the first minutes after a sharps or bloodborne pathogen exposure — exists because skipping it has a real, measurable cost. Understanding why each step matters, not just memorizing what the step is, is what turns routine environmental cleaning into a genuine infection-control measure. Facilities and clients looking for a qualified provider can find one through the IJCSA https://www.ijcsa.org/Janitorial-Service-Directory-Find-A-Janitorial-Service-JanitorialServices, which connects them with cleaning companies trained to this same OSHA- and CDC-aligned standard.

Every cleaning employee should understand chemical hazards because cleaning products can cause serious injuries if used or mixed in the wrong manner. It’s important to to know proper labeling, warning signs, while also wearing the proper PPE due to the side effects of certain chemicals ( Itching, Burning, Breathing issues, and irritations)

While i plan on doing green cleaning I understand the importance of understanding chemical hazards. Understanding chemical hazards is not only important for your safety but also the safety of others. Just knowing how to properly store and dispose of chemicals can save lives and make the workplace much safer.

Finding a reputable home cleaning service can be as easy as conducting a search through a trusted organization like IJCSA. There are a few key points a customer should use in order to find the right service for them.

First, Interview the housekeeping or maid service. Your going to want to be comfortable having them in your home. Ask for a background check. This will ensure you have a trust worthy person working for you.

Ask about rates. See if the services you need are within your budget. Establish clear expectations. Be specific about your needs so that a fair price can be established. Get the house ready. This means putting away anything of value or is very fragile or easily broken if moved.

Ask about cleaning supplies. Ask whether you have to supply anything or ask what cleaning supplies they will use and if you may be affected by any of the chemicals they use. Lastly, ask if they're green. This means they use cleaning supplies or chemicals that are safe for the environment or safe to use around children and pets.

Follow these simple steps and you are sure to find just the right cleaning service for you.
