Being green cleaned certified has been a great asset to our company. There is great value in offering services and products that protect us from bacteria, viruses, and germs all alike. Preserving human health and environmental quality is the largest appeal to green cleaning.

There are around 63 synthetic chemicals that can be found in the common house hold. While obviously no one is intended to consume cleaning products, but if these products are used in your home and work place, naturally they can/will affect by being in the same vicinity.

For example Chlorine bleach can irritate lungs and the eyes and is very toxic in waterways. While bleach is very useful and good for killing bacteria its corrosive and stains/discolors fabrics and carpets. There are green alternatives that perform 80-100 times better than bleach when it comes to disinfectant properties.

Taking proactive steps to know what chemicals you are using in your household or business can be challenging at times, but fear not here at IJCSA we have Green Cleaning Directory  to help you contact a professional today.

The most important reason for staff and employees knowing about bloodborne pathogens is overall safety and prevention. It is important for employees and staff to be aware of what they may be exposed to and how to avoid contact and not spread disease. Although most medical staff will have a greater risk of exposure due to the presence of blood and other bodily fluids, cleaning staff in all settings should be aware of proper practices in the event of an accident where they themselves or a coworker may need assistance.

Decontamination of an affected area is key as well to contain and limit the spread of possible diseases. Making sure the staff is familiar with the proper personal protection equipment is important as well. Having designated areas and clear instructions will ensure a timely clean up and limit room for error in a fast-paced environment.

Immediately informing their superiors of contact is also very import to enforce among your staff.  Making sure they understand the severity of the illnesses they have encountered will hopefully inspire fast action in worst case scenarios.

Did you know that the CDC's number of fatalities by non contact infections in the Healthcare industry in the US is a whopping 99,000 people a year? Why? Because of poor housekeeping.

The CDC reports that the actual removal of microorganisms by soil wiping and scrubbing is probably as important if not more important than any antimicrobial effective cleaning agent used today.

That means that if used correctly a cleaning practice: consisting of cleaning, by wiping down all surfaces first, then spraying of microbial cleaning agents after, are the most successful ways of disinfecting health care facilities.
