I Marquesa Campbell at London Marie Cleaning Company  know In this day and age, it has become very important for people to do as much as they can to protect the environment. In the past, people mostly concentrated on issues such as the use of economical cars and regulation of industrial waste production in a bid to keep the environment clean.

However, you can have a greener environment by doing even more basic things. For instance, if you often call someone to do housekeeping for you, you can use this opportunity to do less damage to the environment.

After taking this course at IJCSA we will never take short cuts, and take green cleaning a lot more serious. And do our part.

As an owner of a Commercial Cleaning company that specializes in Medical Facilities this training is invaluable to the health and wellness of our employees. I believe knowledge is power, and the possibilities that they may come in contact with these concerns they should be educated.

Before owning my Commercial Cleaning company, I of course worked for others. And to do my job effectively, I needed the right tools as well the support/knowledge of every aspect of my position. By continuing education such as this is not only effective for the employee but also the employer.

Thank you providing this information and for helping me to become an even better employer.

The janitorial staff is essential to our daily lives as we provide a safe and clean environment to all. We are specialist at prevention and preservation. We are the force behind the idolized heroes of the word.

Everyday we risk our lives to secure yours. We don’t just clean and go home. When we clean we are preventing exposure of bloodborne pathogens, helping reduce the fluctuation in allergies and up keeping the place safe. Including but not limited to other duties such as securing the buildings, patrolling areas throughout the day which can vary depending on the job location.

There are different types of cleaning we have to do like medical, construction, mold, carpet etc. So while it seems we just wipe a table & mirror off with a slap on the back it isn’t just that. Janitors importance in everyday life is often overseen because others aren’t aware of  the importance of our position. You need to get the proper training and certification to execute. Look no further IJCSA can take care of you no matter if you’re a veteran or a newbie.

It is very important that my team understands that bloodborne pathogens are pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood and can cause disease in humans.  Most exposure occurs when in contact with the nose, mouth, and breaks in the skin.

My team needs to protect themselves by understanding universal precautions and that blood and certain bodily fluids from all patients be considered potentially infectious.  They need to follow proper protective practices when handling all cleanups.

As a company, i need to create an environment where my employees feel safe and understand everything they need to know about bloodborne pathogens.  I will create a written exposure control plan to help protect them.  I will provide proper personal protective equipment, proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions, and containers to ensure the safety of my team.  They need to be safe since they are the backbone of my company.

There is a great deal of scientific evidence supporting the positive outcomes of

green clean programs and associated improvements in indoor environmental

quality. Specific regulations and standards for green clean products and programs

exist and have evolved in both Canada and the United States, gaining validity

    across North America.

What is the impact of green clean on occupants?

“As Canadians, we spend close to 90% of our time inside; at home, at work and in

recreational environments. Most people, however, are unaware of the effects that

poor indoor air quality can have on their health.”

    - Health Canada

Here at BMI we have been using a green clean program for  for over 15 years and it is  part of are every day cleaning programs for our clients

When we need a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or healthcare facility, the last thing you expect is to end up sicker than when you arrived. 1 in 20 patients in a health care center come down with an infection brought on by germs or virus in the facility itself.

With too many different people seeing and treating patients on a daily basis in an average hospital, germs or viruses are sure to be an issue. Due to the increased risk of infection from blood or other organic matter, OSHA maintains strict cleaning standards for all health care facilities.

Most germs or viruses are transferred from commonly used surface, tables, chairs, counters, restrooms, etc. Removal of visible matter by hand or machine from surfaces using detergent products and creating a sterile surface to prevent germs from thriving.

Human life is so important than everything thats why we have to very careful about the cleanliness of healthy care facilities.

Janitors are vital to everyday life for many reasons. Obviously, they keep things clean and presentable. A clean impression is a good impression for visitors, staff, or anyone who has to be in the environment. It boosts morale and makes people feel good.

Also important is knowledge of germs and preventing sickness. Janitors should know how to prevent cross contamination by not using the same materials that touched a toilet on things like doorknobs.

Lastly janitors’ stock up on supplies before the items are missed. No one wants to use the bathroom only to discover that there’s no toilet paper or the soap has run out. Janitors anticipate these needs so you can enjoy these conveniences without even thinking about it.

I'm sure we have all heard the phrase..."Time is Money"! We can probably all agree that wasting time can definitely cost us money. That is why our job as commercial cleaners are so important. It doesn't matter if we clean for a office, a factory, a studio or a hospital; keeping the work area clean aids in keeping our customers staff healthy by slowing down and/or stopping the spread of illness and viruses around the workplace. If our customers have healthy employees then that helps aid in there companies production because it would minimize calling in due to illness. Having a clean workplace also gives our customers employees a piece of mind that they are in a safe environment, so they will not bring back sickness and illness to there families at the end of the day.

As cleaners we also have to be safe even though we may encounter some messy situations. That is why it is important to know what bloodborne pathogens are and how to keep yourself safe. In our line of work there are many ways that we can come in contact with bloodborne pathogens. If  we are not properly trained to handle those situation exposure can lead to sickness or even death.  If we don't keep a safe clean environment not only can we make ourselves sick but we can put others at risk.

Bloodborne pathogens can be transmitted when blood or bodily fluid from a infected person enters another person's body. But there are precautions that can be put in place to reduce the risk of transmissions. Taking courses to familiarize ourselves will teach all the necessary techniques that we need to know to be compliant with OSHA requirements.
