08 Oct 2024 10:17 PM | Robert Digirolamo

Have you ever sat down and thought about the importance of knowing about Bloodborne Pathogens? I can say, I have never taken the time. I am sure most people would agree that it's not first on our priority list. BUT IT TRULEY SHOULD BE. In this article I will go over some of the key reasons why it is so important to familiarize yourself with the knowledge about bloodborne pathogens and the importance of taking precautions to prevent yourself from coming in contact with bloodborne pathogens.

Importance of familiarizing yourself with bloodborne pathogens: knowing about the different types and symptoms associated with bloodborne pathogens is extremely important knowledge to have. Do to the fact if you or someone closed to you: Family, Friends, Spouse your Children? coming in contact with or you yourself exposing them because you came in contact with a bloodborne pathogen and didn't know you had or how and what to look for to prevent it from happening. I know, I love my life, being in great health, and the people around me, I would hate for it to be my fault they get sick. That's the main reason it is so important to have the knowledge about bloodborne pathogens to prevent the exposure not just for yourself but the spread of infectious disease to the ones we love and care for or to cause an outbreak of something in our community's. or knowing what to look for in symptoms to possibly know when to stay away.

Importance of taking precautions to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, like wearing gloves, safety glasses and washing your hands. or properly coving wounds/ cuts, scratches. are some or the most important ways of making sure the spread and exposure does not occur when cleaning up blood, vomit or any bodily fluids. You should always take the upmost care for prevention of exposure. Throw away any cloths and sponges in properly marked containers after cleaning up bodily fluids to insure you have done all you can to prevent to spread and exposure to any Bloodborne Pathogens.

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand why it is so important to have the knowledge about bloodborne pathogens and the ways to prevent yourself from coming in contact with bloodborne pathogens.
