Details Cleaning Service is a strictly residential cleaning company.

We had the business for six years in Stowe, Vt., but my partner, Noel, and I wanted to be closer to the shore.

Talking with real-estate companies and telling them about our service, they thought we'd do really well in this area.

It was important for us to commit to an area and get the business re-established.

One of the things that sets us apart is we're not a large company. There are only two of us.

We had about 28 households we took care of on a daily basis. People felt they could trust us. The business just grew on word of mouth. We actually did very well. People were upset when we told them we were relocating.

The name of our company says a lot. I'm a little OCD (obsessive) when it comes to that. When I clean the kitchens, there is no stone unturned. Everything shines just like a brand new penny when we're done.

A couple of our clients said when they came home they were just so pleased with the way the property looked. They said it almost felt like they were coming home to a staged home.

Entry: I was working for Green Mountain Coffee in the packaging department. One of the ladies I worked with was doing some cleaning. She gave me one of her clients.

Then a friend found out I was picking up some cleaning. I picked up additional clients through word of mouth.

We just formed our LLC. We're licensed and bonded.

Future: People often ask about expanding or taking on employees. But we feel you lose the personal touch that you can offer to a client when you have other people coming into their homes.

If there are any problems, there is nobody to blame but ourselves.

We feel by keeping it small and personable, it sets us apart.
