It is of very great importance to understand why owners, managers, and employees should be trained in dealing with bloodborne pathogens.

HBV, HIV, and now with our recent pandemic of COVID-19 can be a deadly business. All cleaning companies should be treating every job as a possible death trap and care about making sure employees are practicing safety using the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Prevention and exposure guidelines.

Using these simple tools and educating your employees can save you, your employees, and all your families possible tragedy in the future.

Medical cleaning has a very in-depth cleaning regimen that needs to be followed to keep medical workers, patients, and visitors safe. These cleaning practices can be implemented into our company to ensure that our clients and employees stay as healthy as possible. Germs, virus's, and infections are found everywhere including their home and office.

Following the cleaning process that the medical field uses can help keep employees safe while cleaning residential and commercial spaces. An example would be if you came across blood on the floor my staff would be able to take the right precautions necessary to keep them safe of coming in contact with bloodborne pathogens.

Knowing the proper way to clean surfaces, how to use disinfectants, and the proper order of how surfaces and objects should be cleaned also can help with time management and effectiveness of our cleans. Cleaning from high to low will keep my employees from recleaning surfaces, or missing dust particles. Knowing the type of disinfectant to use will help keep the risk of contracting viruses and other infections low. Keeping employees and clients from becoming sick.

Keeping employees and clients safe from infections, viruses, and diseases is so important this day in age. Implementing medical cleaning practices into our residential and commercial cleanings will ensure we are taking the highest steps possible of stopping the spread. IJCSA has trained cleaning services that know the training and procedures used in the medical setting are important and should be followed for any cleaning outside of those setting.

The Importance of Bloodborne Pathogens Training Courses. There are three primary beneficiaries of Bloodborne Pathogens Training:

First, the health and safety of the janitorial crew employees. Employees need to understand that Bloodborne Pathogens are infectious microorganism in human blood that can cause several diseases in humans. Employees need to learn the risk, how to handle different situations to include appropriate equipment in order to mitigate the risk, and the process to follow in case they are exposed or think they were contaminated with a bloodborne pathogen.

Second, Janitorial Cleaning Company Supervisors need to have a greater knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogens because they need to train, inspect and provide guidance to employees who may become contaminated by mistake or by not following the correct cleaning steps.  Additionally, Janitorial Supervisors could also share knowledge with the client and their staff.

Third, the client and staff working in the building also need to be aware of Bloodborne Pathogens. This last beneficiary perhaps does not need to take the Bloodborne Pathogens certification course but they need to understand the risk and the importance of controlling the exposed area and how to contact their cleaning crew who have a better knowledge on how to handle the situation.

In conclusion, employees, supervisors and client are the three primary beneficiaries of a Bloodborne Pathogens Training.

Being a professional cleaner this is highly important to have that way we can create that safe, clean and healthy environment. Our clients also expect us to make sure that all of their home is also safe from any diseases such as the coronavirus, any flu, and more.  Us cleaners have to not only keep ourselves clean but our clients and we can't do that if we don't know how to.

Blooborne Pathogen safety is important in the cleaning environment workplace. It is important for all employees and owners to be educated on the prevention of bloodborne pathogen exposure especially when working in a medical environment because exposure can lead to injury and even death.

Important precaution is to be taken when cleaning medical offices such as wearing proper PPE including protective clothing/gowns, glove, eyewear, face shields, and facemasks. All PPE should be properly disposed after each use to prevent future infection. Workers are subject to risk of any SHARPS which refers to any type of needles, scalpel, razor, scissor, wire, rectractor, clamp, pin, staple, cutter, glass item, or anything that can potentially break skin if exposed.

Exposure to sharps can lead to infections such as tuberculosis, diphtheria, herpes, malaria, ebola, HBV, HCV, HIV, and more. These conditions can be life-threatening illnesses.
