Training Employees & Staff to be knowledgeable about Bloodborne Pathogens

31 Dec 2020 3:30 PM | Deleted user

Bloodborne Pathogens are microscopic organisms that are in human blood. They  cause disease/sickness in a human body. It is vital that all employees and staff be trained on how to prevent being contaminated from these pathogens.  There are OSHA standards to be met while working near or with bloodborne pathogens.

You should always use universal precautions when there is a possibility of being exposed to these BBP (bloodborne pathogens). You need to make sure you are always using the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) given to you by your employer.  This may very well save your life.

Your employer should always make sure there is a written OSHA Exposure Control Plan Manual available and he must maintain three years of records after an exposure has been reported.  You can learn more about safety standards at www.OSHA.gov.
