Why is properly cleaning of health care facilities important?

Health care facilities are a breeding ground for bacteria, germs and viruses if not clean properly. Proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques in health care institutions are important to reduce the risk of direct contamination or cross contamination. Methods of adequate cleaning vary from institutions, but there are basic guidelines to follow to prevent and disinfect health care facilities.

First, the use of PPE is important according to the type cleaning being done. Gowns, gloves, face masks, and eye protection should always be worn to avoid contamination. Second, appropriate cleaning tools make the job easier to achieve. Third, proper cleaning techniques shall be utilize to clean and disinfect health care facilities. At last, to reduce the risk of cross contamination proper cleaning techniques must be followed to clean other areas within the facility.

In conclusion, health care facilities employees have a high risk of contamination from bacteria, germs, and viruses but with appropriate cleaning and disinfecting techniques the risk of infection is lower. Medical cleaning is the fore front of reducing the risk of contamination and cross contamination of patients as well as employees.
