Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness

It is important to stay protected in an exposed environment that contains blood or bodily fluids. Bloodborne pathogens are pathogenic microorganisms that are located in the human body and can cause disease in humans. Cleaning services primary goal is to eliminate serious illnesses, follow universal health standards and minimized the risk of people catching diseases. Cleaning services are the key to all facilities when there is a need of keeping a sanitized and disinfectant area. Companies that always has a constant flow of people coming in and out every day are in a high need of a professional cleaning service. To prevent possible diseases in the human body, cleaning services must clean supplies and equipment after usage. This helps stop the spread of germs and diseases.

All cleanings services need a control plan that should be followed and updated annually. The control plan bring awareness to potential infectious/diseases that can occur and different symptoms to be cautious about. After cleaning in an infectious environment, cleaners must dispose gloves, thoroughly wash their hands and goggles. To prevent mistakes from happening in an infectious environment, some cleaners label and/or color code items for communication. Also, cleaners do not eat or drink in a contaminated area for safety reasons.

When cleaners are working, safety is extremely important because one mistake can cause someone their life. Disease such as HIV, HPV, forms Hepatitis does not have a cure for the disease but treatment to control it. For example, open cuts on the skin, and saliva can put someone at a high risk of an infectious disease. Employers are responsible to make sure that all employees are following the universal precautions and are up to date on cleaning procedures to minimize the risks of all people.
