The importance of knowing about bloodborne pathogens

20 May 2020 1:17 PM | Onna Moore

The importance of knowing about bloodborne pathogens for employees and staff.

Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms in blood that are infectious and can contaminate others.  Not only is there a need for health care professionals to be educated but also those that are in the cleaning field as well.

HBV, HCV, HIV, needlesticks, and other injuries may expose workers to bloodborne pathogens.

Cleaning companies that service homes, medical offices, hospitals, clinics, dental offices and many other types of buildings may at one time or another come in contact with, or will have to clean an area that may be infected with bloodborne pathogens.

It is essential to know the proper procedures and safety measures that need to be taken in order to prevent one from becoming contaminated.

By completing the OSHA training and passing the test,  you are equipped to protect yourself and others in a contaminated environment.
