CEDAR FALLS | Sometimes, a compulsion can be your friend.

That’s what happened with John Butler, who, as his brother, Alex, put it, was obsessive about neatness when he was a kid.

Now, John Butler has built a cleaning business that has some major business and government clients and has up to 11 employees working nightly after offices have closed for the day.

And, Butler is not even finished with college.

Butler, 22, owns Fresh Start Cleaning LLC, which specializes in janitorial services for offices, construction business, moves, and other purposes.

The company’s client list includes the Black Hawk County Courthouse and two car dealerships -- Community Honda and Community Chevy/ Cadillac. And, last week, the company learned that it soon will be taking over "a large medical building in Waterloo," Butler said, noting that he'll hire two more employees when that job comes online.

A $200 investment

Butler estimates his initial investment at around $200.
