LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Precautionary cleaning began Tuesday at five southern Nevada schools that hosted youth football games involving players sickened by Norovirus.

The Clark County School District said cleaning was underway at Cheyenne, Chaparral, Western, Mojave and Canyon Springs high schools.

School district spokesperson Melinda Malone said there were no reported cases of a student with Norovirus. The school district, though, said it is focusing cleansing at the schools' bathrooms and sports facilities that the players used.

No players went into classrooms, Malone said.

As many as 100 players and accompanying adults involved in the football tournament fell ill, with 18 of those people being sent to the hospital from the Rio hotel-casino on Friday.

The Southern Nevada Health District said tests revealed Norovirus as the cause of the illnesses.
