Lawsuit alleges wage violations at Basalt cleaning company

26 Nov 2013 7:30 AM | IJCSA - (Administrator)
Several current and former employees of the Basalt-based property management firm Alpine Valley Services (AVS) have filed a lawsuit accusing the company of allegedly withholding overtime wages, tips and “drive time” compensation, refusing to pay workers for a part of their work day, and firing five of the seven employees after they complained.

All of the plaintiffs are Latinos who worked as housekeepers for AVS, a company that offers property management, maintenance and cleaning services between Aspen and Vail. Six of the workers are females, while one is male.

Ted Hess, the Glenwood Springs immigration attorney representing them, filed the lawsuit Monday afternoon in Pitkin County District Court.
