Why it is Important for staff and employees to learn about bloodborne pathogens.

When your staff is aware of the exposure that comes with cleaning, it will help them prevent being expose to bloodborne pathogens. Your cleaning staff can be expose to HIV, Hepatitis B and C.  Taking the proper precaution can prevent exposure. Your staff needs to have access to appropriate protective equipment as well as providing your staff with Vaccines for Hepatitis B. Your employees need to learn about using needleless devices.

Also using proper cleaning procedures will help keep exposure down. If exposed, you need to be treated to prevent have more complications. Having the necessary skills on handling needles and sharp objects will prevent exposure. Cleaning staff knowing how to dispose of the objects properly will keep other as well as yourself safe. Not having the right skills and knowledge can potentially be fatal.

You do not want to risk someone's life because of improper handling. Always be aware and alert when it comes to blood and sharp objects. It can be at times very dangerous. Infectious diseases for example are HIC, Hepatis B and C. When you understand safe procession, you will help yourself and others around you be safe.
