Bloodborne Pathogen's play an important role in society and is a probable cause for concern in a wide variety of professional businesses. Cleaning staff do fall under the umbrella of professional groups that need to pay attention to and be properly trained and informed about Bloodborne Pathogen's. Anything that can cause disease and kill you is important and necessary to get under control. It is important to avoid disease and it is important to prevent it.

Cleaning Services staff are at risk daily to exposure of Bloodborne Pathogens because they clean homes of human people that bleed, spit and could potentially have medical equipment in their home. Commercial Janitorial staff are also at risk because they work in areas of much higher concentration and high traffic areas pose a greater risk of exposure. People a used to thinking only about the risks of hospitals and medical facilities when the truth is anywhere there are humans is a risky place.

HBV, HEb B, HIV and Aids are all very serious bloodborne diseases. you cannot tell that someone is infected just by looking at them. Treating all visible blood or body fluids as is it were contaminated is an executive decision that can save millions of people from disease spread through fluids. cleaners should where PPE and be aware of their surroundings when they clean. It is not every day that they will come in direct contact with a bloodborne pathogen, however they should always be prepared to say the least.
