Bloodborne Pathogens

18 Sep 2022 2:14 PM | Deleted user

Bloodborne Pathogens are germs that can be in a human body for a very long time, and you can run into them by getting punctured from a needle or other sharp objects. The diseases that you can get are HIV/AIDS, HPB/C. These infections can also spread if infected blood or bloody bodily fluids touch mucous membranes or an open sore or cut. Mucous membranes are the moist parts of your body, such as in your eyes, nose, and mouth.

Staff and Cleaning employees need to know about the effects these diseases, and how to avoid them on the job otherwise they can be exposed. This could lead to a very serious injury, or potential death.

If a staff member is or thinks they may have been exposed, it's important to know the procedures of what to do.
