Importance of Cleaning Employees & Staff Knowing About Bloodborne Pathogens

23 Sep 2021 8:17 PM | Alexandra Hernandez

It is important for all employees and staff to understand and grasp the concept of how dangerous bloodborne pathogens can be. It shouldn't depend on how big or small the job is. All employees encompassing cleaning should be able to take precautionary measures on a day-to-day basis.

If an employee is not aware of the repercussions following bloodborne pathogens, then they should not be able to work. If an employee is not given proper training, then the matter will fall onto management and can be taken to the legal route. Unfortunately, cleaning up after anybody can be off-putting at times. However, if cleaning measures are taken properly, then there is a much lower chance at someone contracting HBV or HIV.

Disappointingly enough, if someone does contract HBV or HIV, it doesn't always stop there. Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) can lead to severe liver problems and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) can lead to AIDS. Both results may end in death as well. This can all be prevented and avoided with proper management, training, and PPE.
