It is important for cleaning employees and staff be educated about bloodborne pathogens to keep themselves and others safe from possible infection.

Using the Universal Precautions approach is the best way to prevent infection from blood borne pathogens. Assume all blood and some other bodily fluids from all patients to be infectious. Be sure to use color coding or labeling on bags and containers when transporting contaminated materials. When cleaning blood or bodily fluids, take care to avoid splashing. After cleaning blood or bodily fluids, be sure to disinfect all equipment used. Wear the proper PPE, dispose of it correctly, and thoroughly wash your hands when you are finished.

If you think you have been exposed to any bloodborne pathogen you should clean the area with water, soap, and skin disinfectant if available. You should also notify your supervisor and physician immediately and refer to your companies exposure plan. OSHA requires all job sites that have a reasonable exposure to bloodborne pathogens have an exposure plan readily available and updated.

Two of the common bloodborne pathogens are Hepatitis B and HIV. If you have been infected with one of these pathogens, you may not start showing symptoms for years to come. Be aware of the signs and symptoms related to these infectious diseases.

Around 5.6 million healthcare workers are at risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens every year. This number does not include members of the general public who are at risk of exposure, including janitors, but also any workers who interact with the public on a regular basis.

It is critical for cleaning and janitorial staff to be trained on the hazards of blood and bodily fluids, for several reasons. First, exposure to certain pathogens (such as HIV/AIDS, HBV, HCV, etc.) can cause potentially life-threatening illness, permanent disability, and even death. Secondly, treatment for these diseases can be extremely costly, particularly in the US. Furthermore, it is far easier to prevent exposure than it is to treat many diseases that can arise from exposure. Exposure can burden not only the one who was exposed, but also their friends and families.

Cleaning and janitorial staff should be well-versed in the prevention of bloodborne pathogen exposure. Training should include Universal Precautions and the proper use of PPE. Any worker who may potentially come into contact with blood and bodily fluids should know the risks and consequences as well as how to properly mitigate the risks.

Bloodborne pathogens contamination can and do occur at all work sites that we clean. Most are not as obvious as a medical facility.

With this in mind, following safe cleaning practices and not becoming complacent is necessary for the safety of our people and our clients.

Our people are unsung heroes on the front lines and in the trenches, fighting against contamination of all kinds, not just during our current pandemic.

Medical cleaning practices are very strict in the sense that there are rules to follow when it comes to the cleaning. Since medical facilities need to be properly clean to avoid patient getting sick medical cleaning practices can benefit residential and commercial places. The majority of people won’t be familiar with some of the rules and proper methods went dealing with cleaning chemical.

Some of those standards can help other residential and commercial situations in the sense that if they can implement a higher standard of cleaning there would be less people getting sick. There would be a lower number of people calling in sick to work and to school. Medical cleaning practices implementation at home can also help you avoid going to the doctor because of bacteria’s or virus that could have been avoidable if we were to do a deeper cleaning with the right cleaning chemicals.

A good idea to implement is to have a higher standard level of cleaning for all types of situations, for homes and work places. By implementing medical cleaning practices across the board we can have a better control when it comes to people getting sick. According to the CDC, cleaning alone effectively reduces the number of microorganisms on contaminated equipment. Now imagine having the knowledge to use the correct chemicals it can really impact us in a good way.

Now, that we are in a pandemic cleaning is crucial and knowing and implementing the high standards of medical cleaning can keep a better control of the spread. For example, knowing that we should clean with color rags that way we are not cross contaminating areas and knowing about how to correctly use chemical that can kill harmful virus and germs. As we know, green cleaning is one of those processes that prevent the environment from pollution. To be more precise green cleaning is cleaning with natural products such as white vinegar, salt, baking soda, etc. that's why their use as natural cleaning products are unharmful.

As concerning the use of hazardous chemicals, everyone knows that they are effective when it comes to cleaning, but we should know that they are dangerous for every living creature on the earth and the environment too because they promote pollution of nature. Our ecosystem is suffering because of such chemical compounds. Air pollution also promotes such dangerous diseases as a censer. So to live longer and take care of our kids and pets, we should avoid using such hazardous chemicals.

In previous paragraphs, I compared green cleaning and cleaning with using hazardous chemicals. So we can see why green cleaning is better. It has many benefits. That's the main reason why being a green cleaner or green cleaning company is good.

Unfortunately, some people think that green cleaning is not as effective as cleaning with hazardous chemicals, but it's wrong. There are a lot of effective recipes that contain natural products. So it would be better if awareness of society will increase about this issue.

In conclusion, I would like to say that if we will choose to be a green cleaner or green cleaning company, it plays into everyone's hands, and added to everything else currently the demand for green cleaning companies among consumers are increasing. That means that it's not good only for our health and the environment but for successful business too.
