For years people have been hiring companies to keep their home or business clean and not thinking about the harmful effects of the everyday household chemicals have on our environment or our own health.  Without much thought use of drain cleaners, bleach, air fresheners, carpet and upholstery cleaners, ammonia and more. but in the last few years studies have should the harmful effects these products have on everything and everyone.

Thousands of household chemicals from cleaning products are washed down our streams and rivers every day thus entering and effecting our food chain.  Not only in our water but in the air.  Aerosol sprays have been known to harm the o-zone layer for years and yet they are still heavily used. VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in cleaning products affect the indoor air quality and add to outdoor pollution such as smog.

VOCs and other household chemicals can contribute to respiratory problems, skin irritations, allergic reactions, headaches, kidney or liver problems and more.  Why do we keep using these products?  We have them handy and available, but with the help of IJSCA and other janitorial training companies most cleaning professionals know the importance of GREEN cleaning.

Simple and cost-effective household green items are readily available and without a little training and knowledge most people do not even realize this. IJSCA takes great pride in getting this information out to the community of companies and business owners to lessen the effects everyday chemicals have on us and our planet.

With a easy click of a button you can gain knowledge of the great difference that becoming GREEN clean can make, you can find a company in the directory that will gladly and proudly make your home or business GREEN clean.

It is extremely important for all cleaning staff and employees to know and understand what bloodborne pathogens are to prevent contracting diseases such as HBV or HIV/AIDS.  Bloodborne pathogens are microorganisms in human blood (body fluids) that pass disease if exposed. There are several ways to become exposed, thru the mouth, nose, open cuts/wounds or puncture exposure.

Several methods of safety precautions can limit exposure, such as gloves, protective eyewear, hand washing, never reusing towels or sponges and disinfectant cleaners.  Disposing of all potentially hazard materials in proper containers (red or orange biohazard bags or sharps). All equipment used is to be sanitized after each use to ensure no cross contamination occurs.

If each employee or staff member follows OSHA procedure limited exposure or spreading of infectious diseases will be at a lower risk rate. All employees are required to have a written exposure control plan that is updated yearly for accidental exposure. If exposed, immediately notify employer and follow guidelines.

It is important that a non-professional attempt to tackle mold cleaning or removal on their own. Hiring a mold certified professional is always the way to go.  Mold spores are dangerous to the human body, causing irritation to the eyes, throat, skin, nose and lungs even to non-allergen people. By adding Mold services to my company. I will be saving home and business owners from the harmful effects of mold.

Not all mold is visible in the home or office, it can hide in walls, under floors, attics and under the structure.  Becoming IJSCA certified in Mold inspection and remediation will benefit my clients in many ways, from exposure to long term damage.

IJSCA offers a certification in GREEN CLEANING that allows companies and homeowners a completely eco-friendly way of cleaning.  Many of the chemicals we are used to using on a daily basis have harsh harmful chemicals, not only to your home or business furniture but to the human body, environment and pets.

I have started using green clean solutions such as baking soda, alcohol, peroxide, vinegar, tea tree oil and other essential oils.   These cleaners do not leave harmful fumes or residues.  Clients are so happy with the results and are amazed at how easy it is to go GREEN and surprised how well it works and how fresh it smells.

Our ecosystem has been taking a beating for many many years all because we want to be clean! Many chemicals leave burns, eye irritations, lung problems along with possible kidney and liver damage to humans and pets but does just as much damage to the environment.  its easy to find

After years of using everyday household chemicals, thru research I found out how harmful chemicals can be to the human body as well as pets.  Bleach, ammonia and other harsh chemicals can cause eye irritants, rash, migraines, muscle weakness, kidney or liver damage and more.  I have switched 90% of my cleaning supplies to GREEN, this includes vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, baking soda and lemons.

Using a variety of ratio mixtures i have a green solution to almost everything i clean.  I have found green paper products as well.   Our company takes pride in keeping our planet, our people and our pets healthy.  IJCSA certified members offer a GREEN clean to most all customers.
